Starwood Group Hotels

Ever since discovering Plaza Athenee, A Royal Meridien Hotel during our backpacker days in 2006, and finally staying there for three days in a club lounge suite, our first ever visit to a 5 star hotel in 2010, we have been captivated by the Starwood Hotel Group.Sadly, we are currently only preferred guests within their loyalty programme, SPG, however, we now have an SPG Amex credit card to help us on our way to gold membership, and our stays are starting to add up – we have enough points for a few free nights now, but I’m keeping them for a really special occasion (wouldn’t it be lovely to stay in a 100000 point per night property for ‘free’! We’re over a quarter of the way there, now)

Have a read of our reviews from our stays at the groups hotels – and let us know if you think there is somewhere we should be heading to next!

Our upcoming stays with Starwood are at the Westin Grande Bangkok and Le Meridien Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok).  On my wish list to stay, Le Meridien Piccadilly in London and the original St Regis in New York.

The Lanesborough in London was on my bucket list, however it has now been bought out from St Regis chain of hotels.  This does make my challenge of trying every Bloody Mary cocktail in the chain one step easier, though!
