Today has brought the super exciting news that Metcalfe Makeover number nine is about to begin!
Eight weeks ago, Darren and I put an offer in on the most incredible flat, and ever since, we’ve been eagerly waiting for news on finance so we can start the renovation. Stress levels in the Metcalfe household have been high, and dry January hasn’t helped. (Although there may have been a small celebratory slip up this evening)
This beautiful flat looks likely to be the most difficult renovation project to date. It’s set within a Grade II* listed building, so there are few rules and regulations to follow. The flat currently has no kitchen. There also doesn’t seem to be any electricity. There are also some incredible ceilings which need a great deal of restoring and some others that need to be put back up. This flat is going to need an incredible amount of work, but fortunately we don’t need to worry about the 14 acres of grounds as there is a man with a big lawn mower for that!
